1950 Eddie Miller Streamliner
1950 Eddie Miller Streamliner
Originally featured on the cover of Hot Rod magazine in August of 1950, Eddie Miller Jr.'s Class B Lakester Streamliner took first place honors in the Hot Rods class at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, thanks to Don Ferguson's inspired restoration. Powered by a 1949 Pontiac flathead six-cylinder, 248-cubic-inch engine, the ground-hugging car reached speeds of 146 mph at Bonneville in 1950 and 156 mph in 1952. Ferguson gives full credit to Miller, who was just 20 years old when he built the car. "It was his vision," Ferguson says. "I just retraced his work."
