1925 Chevrolet Spurgin-Giovanine Roadster
Chuck Spurgin built the Spurgin-Giovanine Roadster in 1939 and raced it for the first time the following year, though it would compete for 17 years altogether. Featuring a four-cylinder Chevrolet engine with a three-port Oldsmobile head, the car set every world record for Class A roadsters in the 1948 SCTA race season while breaking every speed record in its class at every meet. The roadster has been meticulously restored — down to the replication of every loose wire — by Ernie Nagamatsu of Los Angeles, who is a dentist by trade.
